MP Lassoes Cowboys

Today, Hazel Grove MP, Andrew Stunell urged local residents to make the most of TrustMark, a new scheme that helps people find reliable and trustworthy tradespeople, as part of a campaign to stamp out cowboy builders and rogue traders.

Commenting on the new initiative, Andrew Stunell MP said:

"Cowboy builders and rogue traders cause many local people distress with dodgy work and rip off rates.

"Now people can find a list of local reputable builders, electricians, roofers, heating engineers and other tradespeople that meet the standards the Government has set on a new website.

"This is great news for when emergency repairs are needed and for anyone planning home improvements. For more details of the scheme and to search for reputable local contractors, see www.trustmark.org.uk, or get in touch with my office for a leaflet."

TrustMark is a joint initiative between consumer groups and industry bodies, and is endorsed by the Department for Trade and Industry.
